The Bookshop in the Research Library
|
A small bookshop in the library contains a fine selection of newspapers, maps, calendars, photographs, pamphlets and books, including several books of local history written by society members. To view a selection of these, see our Publications for Sale page.
In celebration of the Society's 50th Anniversary, on May 9th, 2010, the Publication Committee is compiling a special 20-month calendar running from May, 2010 through December 2011. This collector's edition will be 8 1/2 X11 inches per page, and will cover 17 X 11 inches when hung on a wall. The top half will feature an historical photo of the County or a collage of Society events and members over the past 50 years. The bottom half, of course, will be the calendar but will note important dates and facts about the Society's accomplishments during the 50 years of its incorporation. Staying with the "50" theme, only fifty of these will be published and will be available at the Happy Birthday Celebration on May 9th. We are taking pre-publication orders, however, so call if you want one reserved. $10 or 3 for $25.

If you are interested in volunteer work, please contact the library staff at 479-7827 or stop in between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00 Tuesdays through Fridays.
